It is with great pleasure that I get to introduce Tommy to you all. I met Tommy through a referral from one of my seniors that I photographed this year, and I am so happy she did. Not only is this young man super easy on the eyes, but likes to be photographed which makes my job easy…and he also likes to talk, which made this session fun. I can see why he was chosen as a captain for his swim team, as he has a very magnetic personality, with charm and confidence that you don’t see much in someone of this age. He also has this smile…his whole face lights up and you just can’t help but smile with him. I might not have chosen as many “smiley photos” to show in this blog post, mostly because he also can give such a killer GQ look too…and I like to show that off.
I always like to share a bit about my seniors so you get an insight to who they are and what their plans are for their future, because that is one on my favorite parts of my job; getting to know each teen on a personal level and not just taking their pictures and moving on to the next. I truly feel a connection with them all. So, when I got this text the other day from Tommy telling me that he had been accepted into his dream college and sent me pictures of his acceptance letter, I think I was just as thrilled for him as if I had known him forever. This young man has been accepted to The College of St. Scholastica with a Benedictine scholarship!!! Whoop Whoop!! Seriously, I am super happy for him and I know he will do great things in this world. He is planning on working in the medical field, and with his compassionate heart, it suits him well. He also volunteers at a local law enforcement office and gets to ride along with the officers…not a bad gig huh? I know I was a bit impressed.
So for Tommy’s session he took me to the law enforcement office that he volunteers at, and we took a few pictures that were nature inspired outdoor shots and some inside which aren’t shown for security reasons. From there we went to Minneapolis and finished off the session with the downtown scene. I love that he dressed so classy. You could see him featured in some men’s magazine from today or from 50 year’s ago during the golden age of Hollywood. Totally timeless. Oh, and I just adore the bow tie! Not every guy can pull off that look and do it so well, but Tommy, you not only pulled it off but you nailed it. You just might have modeling in your future to add to your list… you never know!
